Attitude

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company, a marriage, a relationship, a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you, you are in charge of your Attitude.” ~ Charles R Swindoll

I loved the passage above from the moment I read it and as I contemplated on it, I can't stop myself from agreeing that your attitude will either make or break you.

Possessing a positive attitude is never easy, more so with the presence of negative people around you. It takes a great deal of mental discipline to look ahead irrespective of. Associating yourself with the dreamers and the go-getters will also help you achieve such disposition in life.

It pays to also reflect or meditate on the things that occurred. This way, we can bring along the lessons learned from an adversity and continue to trek life with eagerness, enthusiasm and hope.

So the next time you feel blue or if you find yourself in a troublesome situation; keep the positive attitude alive. After all, the downpour will eventually stop and the sun will once again shine!

  2. Indeed, it all boils down to attitude. I remember reading this passage in the piano room of my highschool piano teacher, Sister Helene. I've tried to remember this since then, as a sort of motto. :)
