Pinoy Summer, Da Best Forever

Summer in the Philippines is often associated with the genesis of activities you and your family can engage in. It usually starts when classes in all levels end, as well as the beginning of high temperature and humidity that could reach to an astounding 40 degrees Celsius (seriously)!

ABS-CBN, one of the largest television network in the country created the video below as their summer station ID that best delineates the word, s-u-m-m-e-r. Though this season is soon coming to an end ( until the first or second week of June), it is never too late for me to share to you the myriad festivals which are celebrated in the different regions of the country; the pristine and breathtaking beaches teeming in the 7,100 islands where one can enjoy any water sport or simply bask under the sun for a great tan. Similarly, this is also the time of the year when various tropical fruits are in abundance like the famous Philippine mangoes that are seemingly sweet and fragrant; and my favorite dessert, halo-halo sold in every nook and cranny to beat the summer heat.

The video also depicts "a picture of how  proud we are of our heritage and values as reflected in our very own festivals. Bayanihan, camaraderie, unity, respect, and love for one's self are the prime Filipino values highlighted. Color and joy spread like summer heat, awakening the festivities and making celebrations more alive," says Robert Labayen.

I am  a Filipino and I am exceedingly proud of being one. E Yo! E Yo! Hey! Pinoy Summer, certainly is da best forever!

Tuwing tag-araw kulay mo'y lumilitaw/ Sumasayaw sumisigaw ang totoong ikaw/ Sinasalubong mo ng ngiti ang mundo/ Sa bagong kaibigan puso'y lumulukso/ Pagsapit ng init lahat magkakapit/ 'Sang bayan 'sang pamilya sabay nagsasaya (ulitin)/ Pinoy summer pinoy summer Da best da best da best forever (ulitin)/ E yo! E yo! Hey! E yo! E yo! Oh! (ulitin) Da best forever/ Sa tunay na kulay ng lahing Pilipino/ Ipakita pag summer na da best tayo!
