Having Faith Is Worth The Wait

Let me share with you how our good Lord has recently worked in my life. The blessings I am now reaping was the result of prayer and faith plus more prayer and faith. I promise to make it short and interesting and not bore you till you reach the last word in this entry.

I shifted to a more humane career recently. I define it as humane because working for more than four years in the call center industry has made me sickly. The pay was tremendously bigger compared to the conventional job you could think of. My tax would amount to an astounding 6k+ (sometimes more)! And knowing that my hard earned money only goes to the pockets of our horrendous politicians depresses me. I resigned without any clue as to what my next job will be. I was tired of that industry and was literally dragging myself to work everyday. Sometimes I thought I was acting like a mediocre.

I looked for jobs I can do from home. Similarly, it was exceedingly convenient (for someone who uses the wheelchair full time) to simply do the work in pajamas! Gone were the days when my sleep was less than seven hours or missed meal times with my family. Consequently, my Dad need not wake up at three in the morning to fetch me from work. Though he wasn't whining, I knew he prayed silently that I have a "normal" schedule. Hah, if only life was that simple.

It has been one month now since I started working as a web content writer and an ESL instructor to the Japanese. Yes, you heard me right. I am having two jobs. Isn't He amazing?! I am having these jobs and loving every moment of my life! I am at my happiest now. I research or write three articles with 500 words per day and teach five hours at night for five days concurrently. And I plan to do this for the longest time.

These blessings did not come to me overnight. I was anxious. I had apprehensions and doubts. I still feel these emotions creeping from time to time. I talk to myself and wondered if I'll ever manage? But again, I am reminded to be grateful. I have prayed with unwavering faith and He had granted this desire.

Below are some posters I found meaningful to my entry. I hope these inspires you. Which one is your favorite?

  4. It is hard to chose from among the three but I will chose number one. It best represents to me faith.Daring to blindly step out with trust.I am so pleased every thing is working out for you. Life is not always easy...but it is totally doable with God and giving him our prayers and trust. Blessings.

  6. I am so happy for you....God is so Good! I truly believe you will do very well at both of these jobs.

At first sight I really liked the second quote, maybe because I had never seen it before, but I really believe that God's timing is the best as indicated in the third quote.

    Have a happy day!

  10. So glad that God has guided you into what He has for you right now. I know from experience that ESL teaching is very satisfying. (I enjoyed home teaching overseas students including getting to know Japanese families).

  11. That's great news :)

I was an ESL instructor over the summer, I made my own lesson plans and shared them online. If you are ever looking for lesson ideas, feel free to take whatever you want off esl-kids(dot)blogspot(dot)com

  12. Oh, I love them all but the first one reminds me of the vernal pools on top of Arabia Mountain where the line between heaven and Earth is a "thin place".
God bless you and your positive self! :-)

  14. I like the third one. It speaks of God's perfect time and we just have to wait for it.

As for the two jobs, wow. How I love to have them! I always dream of working at home part time or full time so I can have more time for my kids. But my situation is kinda different and my job requires that clients and bosses see how I work esp on product presentations.

God is good, Ida. Thanks for posting this. I again was reminded of it. Have a nice day!

  21. I always believe God has perfect timing! I am happy you were brave enough, and had faith enough to leave a job which no longer made you happy. That was not an easy choice. Also, my three cousins (a lawyer, dentist and psychologist) took the Teaching ESL course to use it in the future... I wished I could do so too but there are no such courses in Zamboanga!

  27. I like them all but the last one is I like the best. I also want to work at home but my work now is still okay. It is just that I want to guide my son all the way and be with him and take care with him. My perception in life changed when we have him. But I know God has a better plan in the right place and time. Good luck!

  33. God is good. I'm happy for you! ^_^; I'm also working at home but I'm freelancing. Wow two jobs, the internet has endless possibilities but tbh,I don't earn much because I'm to blame - I procrastinate a lot! I pray that I escape the temptations of procrastination.

  36. I never been a call center agent, but I had tried working on shifting schedule looking after and making sure that the area I'm holding will not have any brownout, and it's so exhausting working graveyard. But now I'm very thankful I had transferred to a regular 8am-5pm working sched as a planning engr. Like you, I have prayed and waited for God's perfect timing. It's just that I did not quit my job, I stayed on the same company until now. As of now, I can never find another company that pays me well.

  37. Couldn't be more happy for you. God indeed has perfect plan for us and He always give it on a right time. :) God Bless.

  39. Hi!!!I love visiting your blog. It is such a feel-good blog it is soo infectious :). I have been at a crossroads lately, too. I am tired of being a slave to a govt agency (oops, wont mention name)where work advancement favors people who don't do much at all, but know important people. The pay is really good, though, and I work on field so I can control my time (although sometimes, I keep late nights finishing work while I see other employees going to do the office practically doing nothing). I cant give up my job, because of my family Like you, though, I have also been doing some article writing on my free time. It is tiring, cuz I usually do sets of 5 articles with 500 words, but since I love to write, it has been very fulfilling for me.

  40. Hooray! Welcome to the world of those whose beds become office desks. :D I myself am grateful for the opportunity to earn online. I am able to see to my little kids' needs and help put food on the table at the same time.

  41. This is indeed a blessing. God is pleased with our faith and His goodness is overflowing.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Wow, I wish I can write like you. You write three articles with 500 words per day right? How much do you charge for it by the way?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Everything has it's own time. God knows your desires.. keep on trusting him and acknowledge him all your plans in life.

  44. I love reading when people find new work that interests them! God will provide if we ask, and yes...are patient. I love the second badge...it is very true that just b/c we are struggling does not mean that God does not have a plan. He is always in control, no matter how things look to us. So happy for you!

  45. It is a blessing to be able to work from home. God is good indeed, we just need to really trust and obey.

  46. My older sister is also an ESL instructor to Japanese. She's 2 months in the field now. I told her to apply to contact centers but she refuse because her health will be at risk. Glad you are happy with the choice you made. I'm happy for you.

God is good all the time. :D

  49. God is good. I often find myself looking at my budget and wondering whether it will be enough for the month. For some miracle, something comes along to help me with my budget. It amazes me how God is a great provider.

  50. Yay for blessings! I am not as courageous as you yet, I have not quit my job to fins opportunities elsewhere. Someday I will. :)
