I loved high heels! The verb I used was in the past tense because of my inability to wear one after the accident. But many years ago, I've had several pairs I'd wear on Sundays or during special occasions. I loved how my legs looked whenever I wore one. Admittedly, it can get a bit tiring too when worn for many hours (the consequence of being vain, I suppose *grins).
There are still times when I'd stare at people walking donned with pretty and vibrant high heels. Similarly, I'd still pick up and admire its beauty when I'm at a shoe salon and sometimes wish of being able to comfortably wear one. When I go out and people watch, I'd catch myself gawking at how some would gracefully stride their legs on those gorgeous heels.
But I am honestly happy with the shoes and sandals I am able to use these days. How about you, what is your shoe preference?

You brought back memories of when I was a little girl, I LOVED high heels then, but these days I wear running shoes and slippers mostly.
ReplyDeleteI can no longer wear high heels. Sigh. I seek out and wear the most brightly colored and/or bizarre sneakers I can find.
ReplyDeleteI used to love my heels too but reoccurring foot issues put a stop to that years ago ;( now its flats, sneakers and flip flops
ReplyDeleteI love wearing flats and appreciate the many styles, shapes, and sizes there are. I also pretty much said goodbye to wearing heels when diagnosed with slip disc, but maybe a few years from now if I lose weight significantly I can wear them again. to be honest though, I never 'physically' enjoyed wearing them after the first 30 minutes. Sure, I liked the confidence they gave me, but it was too brief a moment to savor for all the hassle it caused. hehe. :)
ReplyDeletei admire those ladies who can gracefully wear high heels and not look stumbly and wobbly. they look so confident. wish i could, too but i think i'd pass, hihi. i'm okay with flats for now. maybe occasionally, i could wear high heels but not for everyday use. :-)
ReplyDeleteYour description of watching others walking in heels are my exact words. I have beenstuck wearing a flat shoe with no arch that is a tie on type shoe or a shoe with a strap that has can accommodate a leg brace. I hated it when I was younger...but I fit in quite well now with all the seniors. LOL
ReplyDeleteI can manage only up to 2 inches high. It's a minimum requirement to at work.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are bewitching me! Haha.
ReplyDeleteHmn, I did wer high heels when I was still a teacher in the city.
Back in my countryside hometown now, I am very much contented with anything flat! :)
I only wear high-heels when I have to dress up at parties or weddings, and when I do, I have an awfully difficult time walking in them. I should try practising at home because I really love the look of high-heels and the posture they give a woman.
ReplyDeleteI love high heels! The ones in the first photo are absolutely gorgeous!
