Perks Of A Home Worker

I had an unusual day today. I woke up before lunch despite the constant buzz of my alarm; lazily got out of bed while I tried  to fight my perpetual sleepiness. I also made an effort to consciously connect with my microcosm and pondered on many things. I am uncertain if I was magnetized to remain in bed due to the comfort my pillows and my blanket bring or because of the cloudy weather.

I was greeted by the cheery and perky voice of my 5-year-old nephew, as he excitedly showed his photo in their newsletter. I, in turn acknowledged his enthusiasm, hugged and kissed him endlessly while threw him tons of questions about his day at school.

In retrospect, I was dilly dallying. I knew that work was awaiting me yet I took my sweet time, unmindful of the pile of responsibilities before me and oblivious to my duties as a home worker. Today, I coax myself that it is all right to procrastinate but to start working earlier tomorrow. This is one of the many reasons I like about being able to do the work from home.

Similarly I work in my pajamas, save gas from commuting and time from the horrific traffic as well as from preparing before leaving the house. Consequently, I eat more nutritious home cooked foods and I can always take frequent short breaks. Thus, I am able to nurture not only my mind, body and soul but my relationships with my family too!

  1. It is nice to work at home for all the reasons you mention. But for some of us it is very hard to be disciplined enough to work at the right times ;-) I'm glad working at home is working for you.

  6. Sometimes, I like that set-up...but it would be quite a lonely thing for someone like me who lives alone. So, the office set up provides me with a social atmosphere which I also need.

  7. Hi Sis. I am praying to work at home the soonest. I hope you can share where can I start? I feel kasi I am not happy with my work already, although I love the people around me. I just feel I am tired of the daily routine.

  9. So true! I relate to this post, except for the fact that I can't really stay in bed as late as I want (1 year old alert!). Hehe. But it's so nice that we're not tied to time and traffic. Hurrah for working from home! :-)

  10. I envy those perks. Ultimately, that's what i need. Just time to let things percolate in the morning before I tackle the tasks at hand.

  13. I would love to have that job, Ida! I dream of working from home. Any suggestions? :)

I also take my sweet time before hurrying off to prepare my children's and my husband's breakfast and packed lunches and preparing to work. But that happens once in a blue moon! The dilemma of working moms.

PS: I must've been away/absent from your blog for too long that I didn't notice when you changed the look of it. I like the clean look.

    Have a nice midweek! :)

  17. i'm still looking for an online job that would suit my schedule as a stay at home mom (no helper, just me and my one year old son when hubby is at the office), i hope and pray that i'll land that job soon. btw, i checked the link that you posted on my blog, thanks for that, the job sounds interesting and the school where i graduated from is on the list, yey! maybe i could try that too. it's just that it probably won't be easy at this point since my son wants all my attention, hihi. time will come, i know. thanks for this post, it's actually inspired me more. :-)
