After 25 Years

It was a night filled with laughter and fun emanating from the function room of Chef Laudico Guevarra's on October 5, 2013 as we reminisced our elementary days 25 years ago. Physically, not much have changed except for some unwanted pounds and grey hair. Three of our teachers have retired; two will soon join the bandwagon.  My batch mates are mostly professionals, if not housewives and businesswomen. Despite its brevity, we were all glad that we made time to meet again and hopefully have frequent get together in the future.

To our delight, Marge collated the" then and now" photos that stirred various reactions from the attendees - most were astonished and elated especially at the sight of the old photos. Reunions are truly heartwarming and often unforgettable.

When was the last time you met your elementary friends?

  1. Wow! You've done well to keep in touch with your elementary friends. I only have one elementary friend and I keep in touch with her mostly by telephone as she lives far away. I don't even remember so many from my elementary days as most of them did not go to school with me in the later years. I did go to university with one of my childhood school mates and that was nice.

  4. Because I have lived in a small barangay in the Philippines, I often met my elementary classmates. Few of them are my best of friends, I am happy and grateful that we maintain the closeness for years. I miss them. :-)

    I like you hair, Farida!

  6. I love reunions! I get to meet some of my HS friends everytime I'm home for vacation. But the whole barkada was never complete as most are also out of the country.

  11. ohhh, how nice! buti pa kayo. i'm not that close to my elementary batchmates, kahit sa high school nga. my long-time friends are my college barkada and we make it a point to see each other (kahit hindi complete) at least once a year.

  12. Hi Fanda! What fun! I would giggle over the photos, that's for sure. I know I'd be the one with the gray hair AND the unwanted pounds. Yuck!

But with old friends, that just doesn't matter, does it?
So happy you had a great time :)

    1. The presence of the attendees will be more important than those trivial things, hehehe. I just can't help to notice some of those.

  14. My batch mates are always planning to have a reunion kaso lagi naman hanggang plano lang, hehe. Most kasi are out living or working out of the country na tapos un mga andito sa Pinas hirap naman magtagpo sched. But I am hoping one day matuloy din ang reunion namin. Looking at your photos, nakakainggit e.

  15. I love reunions. But, I have never attended an elementary reunion. We had a 25th and a 34th reunion for High School and the 25th for Med School! I love these times...how funny we were...crazy things we did then...and of course, what we do now! So, interesting on the people we have become...some in places we never thought they would go to. Like one of our "sosyal" calssmates in HS who is now an Administrator in a little town in Leyte and how he thinks up of projects on Health, Environment, etc...so heartwarming!

  17. Though I am friends with most of my classmates, I'm the shy and quiet type and I don't thrive well in these kinds of gatherings. In fact, I have not attended any reunion at all. I do meet up with those who were closest to me, a more intimate group of less than 5.

  20. Yesterday! I live in our hometown and we are often in touch. I love that even if I did not spend my high school and college days here, it felt like I was part of their high school life.

    1. Yes :(
According to our teacher, the school is also open to boys but walk-in applicants are not welcome. They should have a relationship with the existing students so the number of boys are really limited.

  25. 6 years to go and we are also celebrating our 25th year. I just wonder who will have the guts to organize the reunion since most of us are already busy at work. hehehe

  27. We had a small reunion with elementary friends about 8 years ago. A bigger, more formal one is long overdue. Oh, and 2014 would be 20 years since our grade school graduation!

    How was Guevarra's?
