Buffet at Sambokojin

Birthdays are best celebrated with the people dear to you, making the occasion more memorable and meaningful. Together with the goodness our Lord has bestowed to the celebrant, is the presence of food. As Filipinos, salo-salo or gathering will always be complete with mouthwatering dishes meticulously prepared or bought to avoid the hassles of painstakingly creating a dish.

Last June 19th, my sister-in-law (the lady in black) decided to spend her day at Sambokojin. We were treated for dinner to a hodgepodge of Japanese and Korean cuisine my family loves since time immemorial. For an affordable Php595 per head, one can continuously taste everything this restaurant offers from 6pm to 10pm.

We savored the goodness of each dish that was authentically and freshly prepared in front of us. Similarly, my nephew and niece enjoyed the food they chose that went well with the teppanyaki.

Japanese food, I will perpetually love. Sambokojin, thank you for making six beings happier that night!

Oh, and I fortuitously found this video by Lenka. It has a feel-good melody and  endearing lyrics I am addicted to listening over and over at this time. Enjoy!

Underneath the moon, underneath the stars
Here's a little heart for you
Up above the world, up above it all
Here's a hand to hold on to

But if I should break, if I should fall away
What am I to do?
I need someone to take a little of the weight
Or I'll fall through

You're just the one that I've been waiting for
I'll give you all that I have to give and more
But don't let me fall

Take a little time, walk a little line
Get the balance right
Give a little love, gimme just enough
So that I can hang on tight

We will be alright, I'll be by your side
I won't let you down
But I gotta know no matter how things go
That you will be alright

You're just the one that I've been waiting for
I'll give you all that I have to give and more
But don't let me fall, don't let me fall

Underneath the moon, underneath the stars
Here's a little heart for you
Up above the world, up above it all
Here's a hand to hold on to

You're just the one that I've been waiting for
I'll give you all that I have to give and more
But don't let me fall

You'll be the one that I'll love forever more
I'll be here holding you high above it all
But don't let me fall

  10. Ohh another grill Japanese/Korean restaurant! I love these type of places, I can indulge the glutton in me. *lol* Plus it's great fun to be with people, talk, eat and grill.

But is it practical to bring kids who won't eat as much as an adult?

    1. Children have a different price from adults. Sorry I failed to post this coz I don't remember the price :D

My sister-in-law also wanted her kids to experience "teppanyaki" and did not really bother paying for them as long as they enjoyed :)

  42. Oh my I didn't know they are that affordable. I saw it in Eastwood but akala ko pang-sosyal lang ang price niya. Intimate birthday celebration is how our family works. Especially in my case, I just wanted the 3 of us to celebrate. Hubby have a huge family kaya dapat kasama ang aunts, uncles and cousins to the nth level. I don't like that kind of celebration. I wanted to be with just my parents, siblings and their families. Mas may bonding.

  43. I haven't tried Sambokojin, the Saisaki spread is my favorite. I love sashimi and it's the reason why we go to that buffet. hehe :)
