Sunday's Best Ever

My family loves food so much that Sundays are considered “the best ever.” It is during this time of the week when my Mom meticulously and lovingly prepares not-so-ordinary dishes to fill her household’s stomachs and allow them to indulge and enjoy family luncheon leisurely.

Exchange of stories normally occurs at this time as well as plans revealed for the future. Sometimes even grave matters are discussed too. This is also the time when jokes are thrown, experiences of the week are shared and more stories are unfolded unhurriedly.

Let me share with you the numerous food trips we’ve had recently. Some places we’ve been to are new and the excitement to taste what the restaurant offered were satiating. The others, due to cravings and lack of choice but nevertheless made us contented and happy beings.

8 Spices Thai Cuisine. Steam whole lapu-lapu with spicy herb (pla phieza), Thai spring rolls and Bagoong fried rice.

Shakey's. Solo pack chicken, Shake, Thin crust Shakey's special, Creamy mushroom soup.

Classic Savory. Malunggay noodles and Lechon Macau

Seoul Garden. Bokum Bap, Pan Fried Fish Fillet, Seafood Pancake, Garlic Chicken Bap, Stir Fried Korean Tang Hoon, Appetizer, Marinated Beef Bap.

My adventure to try new dishes will perpetually excite me. My senses are alive at the sight of mouthwatering and lavish food beautifully plated, inviting me to smell and taste them altogether. The ambiance may add to the pleasure and enjoyment of the moment.

On hindsight after giving much pondering, good food shared with the people I dearly love is considered superb especially on our “Sunday’s best ever!”

Family get-togethers over a meal are always nice. I can understand how your mother loves to cook for all of you. I too love cooking for our family. We don't live close enough for it to be every week but when we are able to be at the same table it's always a good time... full of laughs and chatter.

    8. Some of the foods you have so beautifully taken pictures of look familar. We have a lot of Bermese refugees here in Fort Wayne, and our church has helped them have worship services in their own language with the help of translators. Sometimes the women treat us to some of their foods, and some of the your pictures remind me of what they prepared.

Some of the other things reminded me of when my daughter lived in Japan and we visited her there. When it was time to eat we would look and look at the foods pictured for us either in the menu or in their store windows, but many times didn't have a clue as to what we were eating, but most of it tasted good. We ate many foods we would never have dreamed of eating back home.

Thank you for sharing and I hope you have a great day!
