This is our second time to dine at 8 Spices Thai Cuisine in Robinson’s Galleria. With the whole family in tow (except for my youngest brother who is now in Norway), together with Mr. K, we ordered some other dishes we failed to try during our first visit and found interesting to our taste buds.
Tom Yam Ruam Mid Thalay (Spicy seafood soup). This spicy and sour seafood soup is loaded with herbs, making it distinctly different yet satisfyingly delicious and of course seafood like shells, fishes, shrimps and octopus. This jump-start dish made us seemingly more anxious to try the rest of the dishes we ordered.
Khao Krook Gapi (Bagoong fried rice). A platter of fried rice with bagoong, pork adobo, scrambled eggs, slices of green mango and onions can be eaten as it is - plain! The combination of every ingredient when mixed together is a delicious plate of a rice dish more so if you’ve been clamoring for carbohydrates. So good to the last grain of rice!
Yam Pla Poo (Crispy fish with mango salad). This crispy cat fish, is one of my recommended dishes in this place. It is unusually delicious and goes well with the salad on the side and the bagoong rice. The form of the fish is totally different from its original form. Every bite you make however gives that crunch you'd love hearing and tasting!
See Krong Moo Thod Kratiam (Thai pork spareribs with garlic). Tender, juicy and exceedingly tasty spareribs cooked with garlic is another dish I personally like. The sauce is not necessary because the pork is full of flavors that will erupt in your mouth with your every bite.
Gkai Thod Kapao (Stir fried spicy chicken with basil leaves). This chicken dish is another interesting plate. It is replete with blue and green bell pepper and basil leaves that certainly makes the taste of the chicken very distinct. I'll recommend this also to anyone who plans to dine here in the future.
We then headed straight to the swimming pool area of Holiday Inn Galleria for a dip. The kids were waiting for this activity more than the eating escapade. With a fine weather and a previous hearty meal amidst the laughter and camaraderie, is another fun and enjoyable activity that lasted almost for two hours.
How do you usually spend your weekend?
