Today I Am In Love...

Today I am in love... with the idea of creating a better work space for myself. I need a niche to accommodate not only the many things that comprises me - threads, various pens, books, my reliable desktop, numerous tins for chargers, mints and coins and where I can obliviously do my tasks but also the many more stuff I will accumulate through time.

I like the thought of transforming my microcosm into a space where I can work on and on without having to get out of it and where everything I need is within my reach.

It can be situated in the corner of the room, with glass walls from which creative ideas spring forth.

Or a simple space with some special things that inspires me and significant items that compels me to work even harder.

Yes, today I am in love with these ideas that will materialize sooner than soon (I hope). A small quiet place I can tirelessly work until the wee hours of the morning and gleefully finish typing an article, or an entry for my blog. A space from which something is cultivated and developed - the thing I love doing the most!

Have you created your own niche? Tell me more about it. :)

  1. Mine wouldn't be that one with all the glass windows, I'd melt in the summer! I can't even sit in our air conditioned sun room in the summer, it's too hot. (and it has solar screens and mini blinds)

  2. Cozy ideas! I have a loft that serves me well. It's so important to have your own creative space. We all need a place that helps us reflect.

  5. I would love to have my own writing space, but with a house this small, that's hard. I work in the shared computer room/guest room, which works well enough for me right now.

    Love the pictures!

  8. i have two spaces, one for the lap top and one for the desk top but i can tell you they do NOT look like any of these. if i can force myself to clean it up and dust it i will take a pic. right now i am sitting on the sofa with laptop on my lap, which is how i read and comment. i prefer the desk top unit for creating post and editing photos, i need the large monitor. i like the first desk best in your pics but would not want the screen that high on the wall. i am to old to look up that high.

  9. my little writing space is composed of a study table in the corner of the room, which had been in my possession since i was in college and that was more than 2 decades ago. this together with my trusted 6 year old laptop which i bought while i was studying in australia. alas, my daughter keeps on invading my only private space when i am not around, ha ha ha

  10. So may inspiring and beautiful ideas! I hope you are able to implement some of your favorites.

I do have a special place to work on things I enjoy doing. It used to be my two daughters' bedroom, but now has become my sewing room and the place where I can do bookkeeping, work on pictures I have taken or whatever else I want to do. I have found, however, when I am in the midst of a big project, it never looks so neat as your pictures. An important thing to consider when planning such a space is to have sufficient storage areas of the supplies you may need.

Have fun planning, and I hope some of your dreams come true.

  11. Hi Farida, I'd choose the first one --although being near that window would be awesome. However, I'd find myself gazing out of the window instead of working....

I have a nice workspace (Hubby and I share a room --he has half and I have half)---and that is where my main desktop computer is (with a large monitor)... However, I also enjoy sitting in my recliner with my laptop and blogging....

Can't wait to find out what you are going to get.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  13. Hi Farida. Thank you for stopping by my blog and commenting. I would very much like to follow each other. After taking the time to read your story, I am very inspired by your spirit. You are an amazing young lady!

My workspace... it is whereever I am. But. I do have a cubby hole set aside for my scrapbooking. I call it my place to go when I want to play. It is a work in progress. But, then, what isn't?

  15. Hi Farida, this is a lovely post and I enjoyed it very much. I don't have a particular work space. I always find myself in one room in the house when I have fun on the computer, or the kitchen table. Sounds a bit boring but I do love these work spaces you have shown today and you may have planted a seed. So nice to meet you, thank you very much for visiting my blog and yes I would like to follow you and look forward to many return visits. I hope you will enjoy mine also. I will be adding your name to my blog roll and also on the 'blog roll' blog which you can reach by clicking on the button at the top of the page on the right. Have a great week.

  23. I try to put a working space inside our bedroom but with a toddler around, it would not be possible to keep it organize. Haha.

  26. I did make myself a space to blog and create. I have a small art table with a stool. Above it I hung art work and a shelf to place some art on and to hold my pens and brushes. I have a wire basket hanging on the wall and a small bulletin board with inspirational notes and pictures pinned to it. Everyone needs a space that is just theirs.

  27. I'm still looking and working on getting the best corner for my workstation in the house. It's constantly being invaded by the kids.

  28. the third one looks nice. Once you got tired in front of computer, just look outside and enjoy the beauty of nature to relax.

  36. I have a Pinterest and it's where I gather all my dream work spaces. I love all of your ideas here. Just like you, I look forward to the day that I'd soon create and build that space for me. Then it'd be "MY SPACE" where I'll work, gather and compute bills, organize paper works, craft and blog.

I'd like to hear from you again when you'll show and post about your work space and niche soon. Good luck and God bless! :-)

  37. Well, I really like your ideas! We all need a space for creating; a place that gives us comfort and helps to make things easier on us. I think your heading in the right direction! I hope you will show us what you've come up with...
Thanks for sharing these lovely ideas.

  39. I'd like to have my own working station too, a place wherein no one can disturb me when I am writing articles...

    ReplyDelete
  40. right now my bed is also my workplace or vice versa... i want everything to be within reach.

    ReplyDelete
  41. My work station is a mess now XD I'm accumulating tons of stuff again that the space extended to the foot of my bed. *lol*
My cousin made me a book shelf and the bottom shelf became a sort of table. Under it I bought plastic boxes to house my other stuff for clay, crafting, sewing, etc.,

I like the second & third picture because they're near a window. It's less stressful to work if you can extend what you see beyond a tiny space.

  43. Those are wonderful work spaces! They make me want to transform mine into a clutter-free, visually appealing work space. Now it's just a desk cluttered with my pc, books, printer, and my kids' stuff that somehow found their way there.

  44. Those are very nice! I like a clean and uncluttered work area.

  45. As much as I'd love to have my own working space, I'd rather not because that would mean working at an extended time rather than spending quality time with my 2 young boys. Huhu! Maybe in time...I love your 2nd photo, very cozy, hihi! :)

  46. I love the first pic of table settings with multiple screen. Nice setups.

  47. how wish to have this kind of work place too.. very neat and perfect.. love the color combination as well as the furniture.

  48. AGREE! Rearranging stuff on my desk works for me when I'm already getting bored--and I'm bound by the space allotted me at work. You, on the other hand, have all the liberty to personalize your nook. Soooo cool.
