In A Polka Dot Land

How will your life be like if everything around you consisted of polka dots? Will you be amused, bored or elated? Or maybe animated, thrilled and delighted? 




Dorothy or Dot for short loves nothing but polka dot! She lives in a house with a facade painted in red dots and hibernates in a bedroom with the same theme. Her closet is filled with fabrics of similar rounded prints varying in colors and sizes. However her favorite dress, she wears only for special occasions - was a gift her mother lovingly sewed day and night. She has a plethora of shoes but adores the red the most because it happens to be her fave color too.




She works as a voice coach where famous singers were honed. And also does singing engagements on special occasions while always remembering to bring along with her the favorite microphone. Baking keeps her preoccupied when she's not busy working. She loves to play hostess to a circle of friends who enjoy creating delectable pastries while sharing their secret recipes. Similarly, Dot breeds butterflies and gives it to her beloved peers. They find it amusing though that the pattern on its wings is almost a perfect "O"!




Her pet hippo, she calls Happy was a birthday present her parents gave when she turned 25. It loves wearing the yellow two-piece bikini she ordered online every time they visited the nearest lake. It would spend many hours playing while basking under the bright sun. And Dot's heart melts like icing whenever Happy gives her a contended beam!

    I absolutely LOVE polka dot! I have lots of polka dot dresses, sheilas, shoes, bags and if it was up to me, I'd get polka-dot wallpaper for the whole house! (Sadly, my family do not share the same enthusiasm...)

    I am somehow fascinated with polka dots so for me, I won't get bored with it. I would probably lose myself in between the dots or imagine it as balls and play with them with my kids. :)

    I like the black polka dot dress and the shoes. I like polka dots before but now that I've aged or shall I say, matured, I now choose earth colors, black, and white.

    I like Polka Dots, but not to the extent that I'll decorate my house with it, or wears it every time. I like the story though, very cute and inspiring.:)
