I have always been mesmerized and captivated by Batanes where unspoiled and undisturbed beauty of nature is preserved. It is the home to the famous Ivatans whose sense of community until this day exists and are further known for their sturdy and self-sufficient characteristics.
Found in the northernmost tip of the Philippines, it comprises of three major islands, hills and mountains. The smallest province in terms of land area has a 0% crime rate and even has a convenience store (sari-sari store) called Honesty Coffee Shop!
Houses are made of stones because of the constant wind and air that sweeps the island but the notion that this province is always battered by typhoon is wrong, according to Department of Tourism.
Batanes is in my bucket list I wish to visit in the future. I am enchanted by the photos. What more if I personally see it, right?
Photos from here, here, here, here, here and here
That does look like a beautiful place to visit.

ReplyDeleteLike you I also wanted to visit Batanes. Some of our relatives are staying there (father's side). I heard of that Honesty Coffee Shop - walang tindera pero nakakamangha kasi wala rin nawawalang gamit, lahat ng customer ay nagbabayad ng tama.
