Since 1859, orchids have been closely associated with the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The products of the Gardens' orchid breeding programme, which began in 1928, deserve a place where they can be displayed in their full splendor
The very design of these orchids is, one could say, "hand-crafted" by the Gardens, dedicated to bringing out the finest in any hybrid cross. Over 1,000 species and 2,000 hybrids are now found in the Gardens' collections, and every year, more vibrant and enduring hybrids are added on. For all to admire and enjoy their diversity, richness and beauty, the National Orchid Garden offers a permanent showcase and the largest display of orchids in the world.
I had no idea there were that many kinds of orchids. Beautiful shots!

DeleteGood Morning Farida, Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment! I love having friends from different places and seeing life through THEIR eyes! Please come back! Are you in Singapore? Would love to add you to my "Friend In Every State and Beyond" goal. The orchid pictures are wonderful. Reminds me of the orchid display in the Conservatory at Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC except those are grown indoors! Have a wonderful day and thanks again for stopping by! I've become one of your followers and read many of your previous posts. I look forward to knowing you better. Sharon
ReplyDeleteI was in Singapore last March but only had time to post what my camera had captured lately. I have added you as well and have become your follower. You write exceptionally well and I look forward to visiting your blog often and knowing you better too, Ms Sharon! :D
