It was a night filled with laughter and fun emanating from the function room of Chef Laudico Guevarra's on October 5, 2013 as we reminisced our elementary days 25 years ago. Physically, not much have changed except for some unwanted pounds and grey hair. Three of our teachers have retired; two will soon join the bandwagon. My batch mates are mostly professionals, if not housewives and businesswomen. Despite its brevity, we were all glad that we made time to meet again and hopefully have frequent get together in the future.

To our delight, Marge collated the" then and now" photos that stirred various reactions from the attendees - most were astonished and elated especially at the sight of the old photos. Reunions are truly heartwarming and often unforgettable.
When was the last time you met your elementary friends?
Photos grabbed from friends
Wow! You've done well to keep in touch with your elementary friends. I only have one elementary friend and I keep in touch with her mostly by telephone as she lives far away. I don't even remember so many from my elementary days as most of them did not go to school with me in the later years. I did go to university with one of my childhood school mates and that was nice.
ReplyDeleteNice post.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely group of ladies you all are. It looks like you had a great time celebrating life and friendship.

Looks like a wonderful get together, lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteBecause I have lived in a small barangay in the Philippines, I often met my elementary classmates. Few of them are my best of friends, I am happy and grateful that we maintain the closeness for years. I miss them. :-)
ReplyDeleteI like you hair, Farida!
I'm looking forward for a grand reunion... and hope to be able to attend.. :)
ReplyDeleteI love reunions! I get to meet some of my HS friends everytime I'm home for vacation. But the whole barkada was never complete as most are also out of the country.
ReplyDeleteI would always love reunions, even if I have never attended one yet hehe. In fairness, all of you aged gracefully!
ReplyDeleteI wish our Alumni Association will be as active. Wow, Great place to hold a reunion. Plus, it must be great to see old friends.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember the last time I saw my Elementary friends, I only get few updates on FB mostly my higschool and college friends. I'm glad that you spent time with your elementary friends, time to be cherish!:) Great photos! Sis:)
ReplyDeleteOh, I haven't seen my elementary classmates for so, so long. some i haven't seen for two decades already, waah! reunions are truly heart warming and it gives some sort of a happy feeling just by remembering your childhood with your classmates and friends. this post reminds me of an upcoming high school reunion. i'm not sure though if i could come and join them. sa province pa kasi eh. huhu.
ReplyDeleteohhh, how nice! buti pa kayo. i'm not that close to my elementary batchmates, kahit sa high school nga. my long-time friends are my college barkada and we make it a point to see each other (kahit hindi complete) at least once a year.
ReplyDeleteHi Fanda! What fun! I would giggle over the photos, that's for sure. I know I'd be the one with the gray hair AND the unwanted pounds. Yuck!
ReplyDeleteBut with old friends, that just doesn't matter, does it?
So happy you had a great time :)

The presence of the attendees will be more important than those trivial things, hehehe. I just can't help to notice some of those.
DeleteOh I just loved your pictures. Reunions can be so fun. You look beautiful. We've been on a trip and I haven't been by for a long time. Sorry. I do think of you often.
ReplyDeleteMy batch mates are always planning to have a reunion kaso lagi naman hanggang plano lang, hehe. Most kasi are out living or working out of the country na tapos un mga andito sa Pinas hirap naman magtagpo sched. But I am hoping one day matuloy din ang reunion namin. Looking at your photos, nakakainggit e.
ReplyDeleteI love reunions. But, I have never attended an elementary reunion. We had a 25th and a 34th reunion for High School and the 25th for Med School! I love these times...how funny we were...crazy things we did then...and of course, what we do now! So, interesting on the people we have become...some in places we never thought they would go to. Like one of our "sosyal" calssmates in HS who is now an Administrator in a little town in Leyte and how he thinks up of projects on Health, Environment, etc...so heartwarming!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, you really look good, Farida!
ReplyDeleteThough I am friends with most of my classmates, I'm the shy and quiet type and I don't thrive well in these kinds of gatherings. In fact, I have not attended any reunion at all. I do meet up with those who were closest to me, a more intimate group of less than 5.
ReplyDeleteThis is a happy sight. :) Not so many of us were given a chance to meet our friends from our younger years. I hope one day I will experience this too
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I love reunions!!! :)
ReplyDeleteSo nice to be together after 25 years..reunions are such fun occassions.
ReplyDeleteYesterday! I live in our hometown and we are often in touch. I love that even if I did not spend my high school and college days here, it felt like I was part of their high school life.
ReplyDeletei agree reunions are often unforgettable... i attended our highschool batch alumni once and it was fun..
ReplyDeletethat must have been fun especially while viewing the before and after photos... :)
ReplyDeleteReunions are really fun event.. Looking forward for our reunion too... in the next few years.. :)
ReplyDeleteI also went to an all-girl school run by nuns and reunions are sooo saya!Sadly, my old high school is open to boys and girls na. What about Holy Spirit?
ReplyDeleteYes :(
DeleteAccording to our teacher, the school is also open to boys but walk-in applicants are not welcome. They should have a relationship with the existing students so the number of boys are really limited.
6 years to go and we are also celebrating our 25th year. I just wonder who will have the guts to organize the reunion since most of us are already busy at work. hehehe
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful gathering of friends and memories. I love the pictures too. It would be nice for me to attend one of these reunions someday. :-)

We had a small reunion with elementary friends about 8 years ago. A bigger, more formal one is long overdue. Oh, and 2014 would be 20 years since our grade school graduation!
ReplyDeleteHow was Guevarra's?
