Revisiting Farmer's Garden

I voluntarily accompanied my mother to Farmer's Garden in Araneta Center this afternoon. She needed to get a sack of soil for her plants. To my surprise, most of  the pots she waters and tends to everyday really needed much soil.

My last visit to this place was like a decade ago though we're just a stone's throw away. Despite the scorching heat, I wheeled myself from stall to stall and was amused to witness the beautifully arranged pots of various sizes while waiting for her. The many hues and species of indoor and outdoor plants and flowers were breathtaking and bewitching. And I couldn't resist myself from capturing a few!

Enjoy viewing the pictures as well as reading the quotes on plants. Better yet, enlarge it to see their beauty.

Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later. - Og Mandino

We've got this gift of love, but love is like a precious plant. You can't just accept it and leave it in the cupboard or just think it's going to get on by itself. You've got to keep watering it. You've got to really look after it and nurture it. John Lennon

Think twice before you speak, because your words and influence will plant the seed of either success or failure in the mind of another. Napoleon Hill

One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feelings. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child. Carl Jung

The fact that I can plant a seed and it becomes a flower, share a bit of knowledge and it becomes another's, smile at someone and receive a smile in return, are to me continual spiritual exercises. Leo Buscaglia

Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become a reality. Earl Nightingale

Change is a continuous process. You cannot assess it with the static yardstick of a limited time frame. When a seed is sown into the ground, you cannot immediately see the plant. You have to be patient. With time, it grows into a large tree. And then the flowers bloom, and only then can the fruits be plucked. Mamata Banerjee

If we don't change, we don't grow. If we don't grow, we aren't really living. Gail Sheehy

To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow. Audrey Hepburn
