U.P. Town Center by Ayala Malls is the newest mixed-use quality retail and office development to watch out for. It is situated in the 7.4 hectare of the U.P Diliman East Campus, along Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City where restaurants flourish since October 2013.
Before February ended, my family and I decided to dine in a hamburger restaurant where patties are a combination of chuck, rib eye, short rib, sirloin, brisket, hanger, flank and ox tail. We were already salivating while browsing through their menu but later found out that the wait time was a long 45 minutes! We were all hungry. So the second best choice was at Torch where various dishes were served.
Because we dined here on a Saturday, the place was packed. Nonetheless, our spirits remained high as we eagerly (and hungrily) waited for our orders.
Uncle's 5-cheese pizza (P320.95) Mozzarella, cheddar, parmesan, Fontina and ricotta cheese, topped with fresh basil strips
Philly cheesesteak pizza (P369.95) Classic Philly cheesesteak sandwich filling on a fresh, oven-baked thin crust, topped with mozzarella and cream cheese
Seafood panizza (P329.95) Anchovy alfredo-based panizza with mozzarella and topped with shrimps
Firecracker roll (P389.95) Deep-fried crispy sushi roll with a spicy tuna filling
Classic burger (P284.95) 100% US Angus Beef patty in toasted burger buns, served with homemade potato chips
Blackened chicken alfredo pasta (P279.95) Fettucine noodles tossed with our very own creamy alfredo sauce, topped with grilled Cajun chicken slices and served with garlic toast
Baked Fish Fillet (P294.95) Oven-baked John Dory roulade in tangerine teriyaki yamasa, served with buttered garlic parsley rice
Soft-Shell Crab Salad (P299.95) Fresh garden mixed greens with crispy battered soft-shell crab, ripe mangoes and black grapes, served with pomegranate and Torch signature dressing
Torch's 16" thin crust pizzas were eaten with much gusto; also a best-seller. The dough tasted so good and cheese was abundant. I also enjoyed and savored eating their soft-shell crab salad because of the combination of ingredients and the flavors that erupted in my every bite. The plating of their fish-fillet was admired by my brother. It was a huge slab and then rolled that appeared like a flower.
The staff were friendly and accommodating. Dog-shaped balloons were given to my nephew and niece while we were waiting for our orders. Their pizzas were affordable but some of their foods were unreasonably priced. Over-all the experience was fine and I'm dying to try the dishes from the other restaurants!
