Life bombards you and I with choices. It starts as soon as the alarm rings early in the morning. You have the option whether to get up and rise to face the challenges ahead of you or to lay cozily under the sheet and press the snooze button of your alarm. And you guess it right! Working from home gives me all the excuses to procrastinate longer in bed (maybe because I slumber in the wee hours?).
In the different phases of your lives, choices are there to haunt you. Sometimes you wonder if you made the right decision after signing the contract of your dream job but will steal your precious hours away from your family. Or perhaps you're working real hard in the corporate world but go home to a calloused wife who takes your relationship for granted and lives in a world different from yours until you find yourself falling in love with someone and is torn between the marriage contract.
Your every action has a corresponding consequence. It is tantamount to the saying, "what you sow is what you reap." Unfortunately, there are instances when our selfish motive is overpowering. And no matter how intelligent you are, you remain weak and often falter.
On a lighter note, someone who is conscious might suddenly find a hard time resisting a slice of his favorite cake after weeks of making healthier food choices. He might find himself contending to have a small bite over the possibility of gaining the added calories when consumed.
We have to keep our priorities in check at all time. With sufficient discipline, you'd determine what you want now versus what you want most. And the latter is the better choice!
