I've been subscribing to The Bon Appetit Diet and have joined their online community that helps people of all ages and shapes to lose weight. I've been intending to enroll in their program but found it impractical to pay so much for just a menu plan. So I was ecstatic when I received an email from them with an attachment of their sample meal plan!
From the photo below, it looks to me that the food servings are controlled and unlike other diet schemes, this allows you to eat rice and bread! I once met Eric, The Biggest Loser finalist. He explained the importance of carbohydrates to our body. Too much is definitely bad because unused carbs turn into sugar. But the brain works well with sufficient amount of this food group. And now I remembered why I felt hungry every time I studied or reviewed when I was still in school. That is because my brain was working :)
The key to losing weight is really controlling the food that we take in (aside from exercising). It has been said repeatedly that you are what you eat. Meanwhile it's not bad to indulge once in every while but indulging in moderation is the secret. So I am keeping the list above and create similar menu plans for my meals. Feel free to replicate this too and perhaps, you can tell me if this plan works for you!
Have a blessed Christmas my lovely friends and may the photo below inspire you to eat consciously all the time because "abs are made in the kitchen!"

That truly is the key. That way you can enjoy a number of good foods, and like you said, splurge once in a while. I like that method, and it's what me and my dearest try to do. Merry Christmas
ReplyDeleteI do believe in portion control helps in maintainig weight..but losing weight is has been hard if just only rely on portion control.
ReplyDeleteModeration is key:) Thank you for the sample menu. Will try to imitate the pattern for myself.
ReplyDeleteI firmly believe it is all about portion control......
ReplyDeleteThis is so true. To be able to really lose weight and shed those unwanted fats, we must control our food intake. Since I started to lessen my rice intake I notice my tummy becomes trimmer even without regular exercise :)
